The Society depends on donated goods to help us to serve the needy. We will not accept items with that are broken, torn, missing legs or drawers, that have major stains or deterioration, or other similar damage that will make it impossible to utilize without making repairs. We accept furniture and other household items that are in usable condition and do not require any repairs. In these cases, a voucher is provided to the family which they can redeem for specific goods at our stores. Often times during home visits, Vincentians discover that the family does not have furniture to sit on, they do not have a kitchen table to eat on, or beds for their children to sleep in. The proceeds from our stores help maintain the year-round programs and services we offer to Long Islanders in need. Once we collect your used goods, they are either given away to people in need or sold at an affordable price at our thrift stores. We help you turn your used furniture, clothing, and household items into instruments of hope.
